Top catch in Iceland
The Skipper of Narfí SU 68, Ársæll Guðnason, reports
that last months catch, October 2005, was in total 155 tons. This is the
biggest catch in one month with this kind of vessel in Iceland. They
can also report that they had a day catch of 15, 8 tons, also a record for this
kind of boat and equipment in Iceland. Narfí
SU 68, a Cleopatra 15 tons/ 38 ft, is installed with Mustad Autoline Coastal

Big catch - small boat
You
don´t have to have a big boat and fullscale system to get big
catches!
This "Christmas Halibut" weight 168 kg. Price 8.500 NOK was
caugth last week in October by the coastal boat Sæunn Sæmundsdottir in Iceland
with Mustad Coastal System, a EZ 12 hook and a 6,5 mm Dyrkorn line.

F/V Bristol Leader reports sesonal records
F/V Bristol Leader just finished its 2 best trips ever in the Bering
Sea. Great trips normally happen during the A season because of
fish migration, but with the New Mustad Deep Sea System, this vessel
was able to beat seasonal records. The skipper Shawn Andrew is
thrilled and contributes the great success solely to the Deep Sea
Autoline System.

5th - 7th September Mustad Longline was present at the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition 2005. Since the first fair in 1984, Icelandic Fisheries has developed into one of the worlds biggest events in all areas within commercial fishing. The fair is held every 3rd year and the event in 2002 was the biggest and most succesfull so far with more than 18,000 people from 52 countries. |

WWF and MUSTAD Save Sea Turtle
Mustad
gives "turtle friendly" hooks to the World Wildlife Foundation: The
sea tortoise is one of the world's oldest living creatures, and today
many spicies are treatened by extinction. Fishing with circle hooks
instead of the more usual J- hooks reduces the bicatch of turtles by
90%.

F/V Bristol Leader, one of the largest Longliner in the US was
converted from a hand baiting operation to be fully automated with a
Deep Sea 2 system from Mustad.

Fire at Mustad
Wednesday July 20th the Duratin plant for coating of hooks in Gjøvik,
Norway had a serious fire. The fire broke out during the holiday and
there was no activity in the building at the time.
