Hauling

It is important that hauling room is kept dry. The hauling hatch must be placed where the hull offers the best protection against sea spray. The hauling room is often placed so that the skipper can keep an eye on it from the bridge. In order to haul the line you need a rail roller where the line is hauled on board, a hauler and a hook cleaner, as shown on the drawing to the right.

Function
The LineHauler pulls the gear from the sea over the RailRoller and into the boat. The fish is then removed and the hooks pass through the HookCleaner, which cleans the hook by means of rollers and brushes. The gear is then passed on through the guide pipe leading to the hook separator.

DNG SV 11

SV 11 and SV 12 are coastal haulers made by DNG, Iceland , a company 50% owned by Mustad.

SV 11 and SV 12 share the same design/set-up with a combined hauler and fish stripper. The line is drawn over the rail roller and then through the fish stripper, where the fish is automatically pulled off the hook. The line is then pulled onto a sprocket that feeds it over the line sheave. The line is released from the sheave by means of a release finger that is located at the bottom of the sheave or it continues to the line hanger .
