Hauling

During hauling the skipper has to be able to see the line, either directly or through a camera. By means of a line hauler, the line is hauled over a rail roller through a hook cleaner, as shown on the photo to the right.

Mustad H3000 Line Hauler

Compact and silent-going high-pressure line hauler. Produced in heavy-duty stainless steel. 3.5-ton pull on the capstan. Delivered with direct drive radial piston motor and aluminium composite sheaves. Can be delivered as line hauler only, which can be controlled manually by a valve at the rail, or as a complete unit with attachments for the Mustad LineController™, Hook Cleaner, Line Retriever and Waste Receptacle, as shown on the picture.

Function
The Line Hauler pulls the gear from the sea over the RailRoller and into the boat. The fish is removed and the hooks are pulled through the Hook Cleaner, which is located at the front of the line hauler. The hook cleaner will remove all remnants of fish and bait. This is done by means of rollers and brushes.

In addition, the line and hooks are flushed with high pressure water. The Line Retriever, synchronized with the Line Hauler, keeps constant tension on the gear to prevent slack and passes it through guide tubes to the Hook Separator.

Mustad Deep Sea Hook Cleaner

Heavy-duty hook cleaner in acid resistant stainless steel with 3 sets of brushes and a jet washing unit. Mustad Deep Sea Hook Cleaner is equipped with a number of practical details:

• Stepless adjustment of brush spacing
• 3 sets of brushes that can be turned in 4 directions and that are easy to replace
• The jet washing unit can be easily connected or disconnected
• Opening and closing mechanism with automatic locking in open position
